People wonder when they are in Chexsystems what they can
do to get out of it. If you have ordered your
Chexsystems Report it will list the bank or banks that have put you in
Chexsystems.
You can simply call the bank that you owe the money to
and ask them if you clear up the bill by paying it would they please remove you
from Chexsystems.
Believe it or not some banks will do that for you.
Others, will not.
Some people don't even call the bank that reported
them, they pay off their bill, Chexsystems marks it as paid and then they wonder
why they are still in Chexsystems.
Chexsystems does not have to remove the marking from
your report, unless the Financial Institution that put you there tells them to.
Just because you paid off the bill doesn't mean it gets removed. That's why it
is always best to call the Bank first and get an agreement in writing.
If you get an agreement in writing and the Bank still
failed to remove you from Chexsystems, you can dispute this with Chexsystems and
send them a copy of the agreement that the bank & you decided on, which will
prove that you should be removed from their database.
So all and all always call the bank, see if something
can be worked out and then pay it. Otherwise, you can pay it but that does not
and probably will not get the mark removed from your report.
Chexsystems in not obligated just like a Credit Report
Agency is not obligated to remove your bad marks. They only have to put
PAID unless the bank tells them to remove it from the Report.
